Apache jumping, when she come back in work. comment

This is when my mare came back into work after having back injuring. I know she had 2 things down but that's due to not doing a jumping course for a while.

Looks like a fun course, nice and twisty. Apache is really nimble in her turns :)

Nice quick and agile horse.

She is a little heavy on the forehand on some of those jumps, though. Half halts will help engage those haunches better allowing better thrust over the jumps. Speed is good on jumping rounds, but not at the expense of balance and engagement. If you slowed down and balanced a bit more, you would have saved those rails. Rails=time.

Keep it up, you have some nice horses to work with, IMO.

Thanks. Yep for them rails she knocked she went to jump the arrow head but then she turned and jumped at last minute. Thanks for advice. Will take this on for the non toimed rounds. Its hard cos I do both xc and sj so there 2 completly different rides, anyways thanks for advice. :)

You and Apache are a very cute team!
Here's what I saw your biggest flaw was rushing, which led to her becoming very flat. Instead of having a nice collected, bouncy canter, she is cantering flat and really running in between those jumps - on her forehand to boot. Because of that, you guys had some really awkward takeoffs - some too deep and some too long. In addition, because she was cantering the course flat, her jumps suffered - she was jumping flat too, not with a nice bascule; she was jumping with her neck instead of her back.
I would really like to see you two work on getting her collected and engaging from the hind end. I think you would see tremendous improvement in your jumping, and see less dropped rails as a result.
You two really are a cute team, and I could see you two becoming very hard to beat, if you concentrate more on your flatwork between the jumps :)
