If you haven't heard of the Brooke before - we are the UK's leading overseas charity dedicated to alleviating the suffering of hundreds of working horses, donkeys and mules in some of the poorest parts of the world. You may have spotted our banner on the forum!
Currently, millions of horses, donkeys and mules work in some of the toughest environments across the developing world, enabling poor families to make a living. But when animals become sick or injured, traditional practices are often used in the desperate belief the animal will be cured but some of these practices do more harm than good.
Over the last two weeks I've been putting together an audio slideshow to show how the Brooke is challenging harmful practices on horses and donkeys.
In the slideshow, our Manager Veterinary Officer in India, Dr Mohite, takes you through his working day where he visits a community advising owners on how best to treat their animals - and why chopping off part of a donkey's ear is not the "cure for tetanus".
I'm really interested to see what you think of the slideshow and I'd like to raise as much awareness as possible about our campaign. Please let me know what you think by adding your comments to the video via YouTube!
