    I'm free again!

Well, after a very long 16 days of stall rest due to a bad cut on his foot that severed an artery, Cinny was finally given the go ahead by our vet to start easing in to work starting with a turnout today. Don't worry, I trotted him out on the lunge line first to warm him up so he wouldn't injure something else. Forgot the video cam so please excuse the lousy Cell phone video.

Cinny at play.... I love this because he is so laid back that he rarely plays like this anymore.

Thank you. I have put a bit of work in to him. When I got him 2 years ago he had no muscle,no balance and was a pretty rough ride. Now that he has been developing his skills he gets more and more graceful and has smoothed out his gaits. I am very proud of my guy!

That's a funny video. I love about half way through when he suddenly runs back toward the camera. Goofball!

I loved your video!!!! I love it when animals let their hair down like that!!! I own a mare who is quite a rough ride also. But, as a beginner rider, I find it hard to solve some issues like her rushing at the canter and bouncing at the trot. I am working with a trainer, but I would anyway like to know how you managed to improve his gaits. Did it take a lot of lunging or more riding? Thanks in advance for any piece of advixe you can give me.

It basically takes time... A lot of time. It has taken me 2 years to get him where he is today and he is just now finally starting to give me a nice dressage trot. All of the really great dressage people I know say that it can take 2 to 3 years for a horse to develop top line, strength and balance to do things right. I guess we are on schedule :)
