Think of puffing up your chest as you are hunching over. Try to keep your hands steadier and bend your elbows a little more, you are giving him too much rein. If I were you I would consider riding with a whip, it gets them sensitive to the leg aids (I say this because he appears to be lazy). You are also carrying a lot of your weight in your knees, but you should be carrying your weight in your heels. All I can think of for now.

Thank you for the critique! I have been trying to work on the weight thing.. I'm having a hard time understanding how to shift it.
She is very very forward when she gets going and it scares me a lot.. thats why I don't ride her with a whip. All day today my instructor was threatening to make me ride with one though. haha.

I feel like the reins are always too long as well.. but then when I bend my elbows, my hands are further back, nearer myself... so the reins.. for me.. seem to get even longer. I just don't really get it... :s

You just look like you're doing all the work to me while she's just plodding along. Her thrust should assist your posting. Your position seems solid enough that you can handle her if she gets a little quick. Just try carrying the whip. She'll know you have it and probably quicken up a little as a result. You just need to get her in front of your leg a little more. I'm sure once you get used to it, you'll like not having to work so hard to post.

hmm.. she really really scares me when she quickens up, then I stiffen, then she stiffens and quickens... and then its all bad.

I'll consider it but I think it would make me nervous just to hold one and she might feel my nerves (as she always does...)

Thanks for the advice though.
My instructor may start making me use one either way if I don't smarten up and get her going...
