Just curious by loper do you mean a groom/assistant? I've never heard the term.

I know when I was grooming for my trainer we had a big show to go to with her clients park horse. I tacked it up, looked at her and told her that the saddle still needed to be tightened but I needed a smaller girth so I was going to get one out of her truck. I came back just in time to see her chatting with the owners, then forget what I said and swing up.... and then land on the side in her show clothes with the saddle under the horse and her in the dirt five minuets before her class. Thankfully I wasn't fired and she had a sense of humor after it all. (although she tacked up my horse one time and 'forgot' to tell me the girth was loose to poke fun at me for that show.... I'm told the clients, nor the judges who were walking past have ever forgotten it.) :)
