I've been cramming, cramming, cramming for fair, waking up at 6:30 to ride all four horses before my mom leaves for work. Here's a few videos of Artie and Lenox Western. Lenox will be doing Western Pleasure w/t, Western Horsemanship w/t, and Trail w/t; my mom bought her in November to be her trail horse and I've put a lot of work into this mare. Arthur, my 24-yr old Paso Fino, has been schooling reining, which we were planning to compete in until I noticed that the rules stated gaited horses could only enter showmanship, trail, easy-gaited, and fun classes. That p*ssed me off, so I wrote a letter to Horse Council, backed up by my uncle and aunt who bring reiners to Nationals, stating my gaited horse is not prohibited by his gait in the lope, turn, or back, and that the NRHA allows horses of any breed to enter. I mean, a Saddlebred
entered reining last year. I got a phone call back stating they still could not allow us to enter, and that I would have to be at the meeting in October which decides on rules for next year's fair if I wanted to help change that rule. Anyway, Arthur will only be doing easy-gaited eq & pleasure, egg&spoon, trail, and phone book race this year.
Ugh, I didn't mean to write a novel. Here's Arthur from two days this week:
And Lenox from today:
