Arrow 4yo Arabian x Saddlebred Mare *For your Consideration*

Sadly I must sell my mare that I bought July 2009 that I adopted from a rescue shelter. I love her to death and we have been thru a lot in the past year. The only reason I am selling her is because I need a little bit bigger horse. She was 3 when I bought her and grew a few inches and is still growing but it’s apparent that she will not grow to be the size I need.

Her registered name is DA Call Girl, Barn name Callie. Chestnut with a star. Her sire was Mastark who was sired by the famous Zodiac Matador out of Bask*.
Callies Sire Mastark a 1991 Grey Arabian Stallion Was top 10 in Arabian nationals for English pleasure and Driving.
More information on Mastark Sherwood Arabian Farm is proud t
Callies Dam Call Me Magnificent a national show is descendant of Magnum Psyche who "set and holds the record as Multi-National Champion and International Champion Stallion. As the leading halter sire in the Arabian breed, Magnum has achieved––in just over a decade as a breeding stallion––what few horses ever attain, immortality through his offspring and their accomplishments"

Pedigree for Callie Avaliable HERE -> Da Call Girl Arabian

Callie was trained professionaly for Halter, and was shown. I don’t have any record of how she did as she was traded to the rescue shelter to make up for un-paid board. She definitely has the potential to go far in halter but I can see performance is where she will shine!
Good conformation, a long slender neck, BIG loving eyes, and Beautiful floating trot are just a few of her perks.
!! AND she's STILL GROWING !!
She Loads Beautifully and is very content in the trailer. Good with her ears and clipping is a breeze! This girl shines up nicely! Only 4 and her tail already brushes the ground and her mane is already below her neck.

Personality- She’s a mare that should say it all
Very smart she will test you! But once you show her whose boss she will do anything you ask. Shies from nothing. First time I put a saddle on her she didn’t even flinch. Cinching was a breeze and we had no bucking fits or tantrums what so ever. She’s only 4 and is already practically bomb proof. Loves attention and being around lots of people.
Training - Green Broke.
When I bought her all she knew was halter and how to free lunge, and Of course being shown she had all of her ground manners.
This is what we have been working on for the past few months
· The first thing I did was teach her how to lunge on a lounge line.
· She knows walk, trot, canter, ho, reverse, Up and Down
· Then we worked with a curclinge
· and got her working in a Bridal and bit
· And once on the Long Lines
· after that I added side reigns to the surcingle
· (she has a very natural headset)
· we put the saddle on and lunged with that
· then added side reigns to the saddle and bridal
· After she was comfortable with the saddle I sat on her and we led her around with me on her back.
· we can now walk trot and whoa under saddle working off a halter
· My next goal is to perfect the trot and start working off the bit and get her used to a head set.

I plan on continuing her training and hopefully bringing her to a few local shows and showing in walk trot classes.
If you have any questions or ADVICE please message me!
Once it gets warmer out I will post some updated pictures ( these are all from fall ) and we just got 13 inches of snow so no new pictures for a while.

The Grey Is her Sire!

UPDATE: she's doing much better on longlines and we have a solid trot under saddle! Starting a headset at the walk and going to start working off the bit this week!

You do not say how big she actually is. You also do not mention a price.

Make sure you didn't sign a contract saying that you have to return the horse to the rescue/shelter if anything were to happen.

Agreed, Joe. If she doesn't have a bill of sale in hand, she may not be able to sell the horse.

Another question, OP; where are her papers? You indicate she's registered, but many horses who come into rescues don't have their papers with them. If you're not in possession of them, you'll need to get them from the owner of last record. The AHA has a lot of hoops to jump through if you're trying to get hardship registration papers.

Since she's a Saddlebred/Arabian cross, is she registered as a NSH as well as a Half Arabian? You didn't indicate whether or not she was double registered.

So, if you're not the registered owner and can legally transfer registration, she can't be shown at Arabian breed shows. That will affect her price.

Okay first off she is 13.3 and I am open to negotiation or a trade for her price. I am close friends with the shelter I bought her from. The only condition her being a "rescue" is that the new home would have to be aproved by the shelter. She came with her papers and I do have them in my possesion, She is 3/4 arabian 1/4 saddlebred registered as half arabian. Thank you Misty : ]

There is a pretty big difference between 14.2 and 13.3 in the grand scheme of horse things.
