I like the buckskin but definitely way overpriced. This ad is full of wannabe, could be disciplines. He's a little overbitted in the video with mouth gaping and the rider could have allowed him more rein. He was kept in a high head position resulting in a hollow back. If I was doing the shopping I'd offer what he's worth to me, and that would be $2000 tops providing he's registered. Just because people ask a high price, doesn't mean they are going to get those kinds of offers. To me the horse has some basics on him and that's about it.

That is quite the story on the Arab-so glad that man called you-just goes to show how buyers have to be so aware. The TB sure looks and sounds nice. I had a neighbor that had a young mare OTTB and she was a great trail mount- unfortunately, she was stolen out of her back yard and never recovered.

No, that was a neighbor's horse & yard. But I did have a horse stolen from my stall on a military base-I did get her back later that day-some kids took her out for a joyride-they stole tack from another barn & took her off-base. Cops found her, but she was never the same after that, despite vet care & a chiropractor, & since their father had more rank than I did , I was discouraged from pressing charges. (This was back in the '70's)

Well, B2HB, I wish you and your trainer were in OK not AZ. I have a lovely mare, in your price range, who has been trained hunter pleasure and shown twice under saddle, at the Iowa Gold Star and at US Nationals in the HP Maturity class. She did extremely well for those to be her first 2 under saddle shows. She's a beauty and has won extensively at halter, so knows what she's doing in the show ring. She's for sale because I no longer ride hunt seat, her owner got tired of feeding her and gave her to me. She's sweet, wants nothing more than to please her owner and needs a good, loving home that wants to do stuff with her and bond with her.

I'm going to go ahead and post her sales e-blast here, not for you because I totally understand not wanting something as far from home as she is from you, but in case you or anyone else knows someone who would like to have her and doesn't mind having her hauled.

If anyone wants to look her up on Data Source, her name is Amerikan Beauty WP AHA reg #627217. She's being transferred into my name, so may not show reg'd to me yet.

Alright, going in reverse order here:

Pat, your mare is probably one of the most beautiful greys I have EVER SEEN....Not to mention, she is simply to die for in the eye, so OPEN, warm, just a gorgeous girl (& you know if you've read the thread that I'm totally partial to geldings)... it's good you're there and I'm here because even if she didn't like me, I'd spend all day every day doing the horse-owner-to-be equivalent of wooing her! :0). I'd be "buying her (proverbial) diamonds and chocolates" to win her affection-haha!! :0)

CaCowgirl: Talk about a devastating story! So unnecessary, so unfair to have to "go along with something" so awful happening to your beloved horse, due to some idiot kid's idea of "fun", & then, to not even being able to DO anything about the kids because the father outranked you!! Makes me fume just thinking of it! :0(

Talk about your "mixed feelings" post!!

This guy is in Texas, but he's free. Shouldn't be over your budget to ship. ;)

LOL B2HB, she's totally sweet and she's funny too. I like to find one little thing that's "naughty" that seems to really please the horse and let them get away with it. For her it's getting out of her stall and sneaking up to see if the lid is on the feed can. She gets the biggest kick out of 'sneaking' out of her stall and checking that feed can. I let her run up the aisle and when she's right up there, checking to see if she can steal a bite, I say, "Beauty, what are you doing? You better get back to your stall right now." She comes running back to her stall and 'puts herself away' and on her way past me, she gives a little flick of the tail and I swear I can hear her giggle. She also tells me "YES" very emphatically when I ask if I should feed her next. I ask, "Beauty, are you next? Do you need your bucket?" and she nods very clearly, "YES YES YES".

Sweet, sweet mare and only wants to please and make you laugh.
