Nobody was fighting except for you, OP

You're the one who threw a fit and called people rude for merely pointing out that you're dreaming if you think a superbly talented and completely trained horse is going to sell for $1,000 or less.

Horses like that are worth quite a bit, and I'll lay odds that 'great' horse you found for $900 isn't being advertised truthfully. People LIE in order to get rid of horses. If you don't know that, then you're certainly not as skilled or knowledgeable as you believe yourself to be.

Any horse who can show at 3' or above is NOT going to go for $1,000, even in this bad economy.

You may not like hearing the truth, but it's not rude to point it out.

^ Completely agree. I'm pretty sure that $900 dollar horse is either a typo or a scam.
Dressage and jumping are sports that require tons of training, and if that horse is as well trained as the ad says (even in this crap horse market) that horse is probably at least $3,000 or more.

Honestly, I think you either need to wait and save up more money for a horse, or lower your expectations for what you can get under $1,000.

It concerns me if this horse is jumping 3ft with a rider and isn't completely broke...Sounds like bad training to me

I would wonder about a "great dressage/jumper horse" for $2000, too. That's a low price. The fact that his price dropped from $2000 to less than half that is a HUGE red flag. You can get a nice horse for under a thousand dollars, but it certainly won't be everything wrapped up in a pretty red bow - it's likely going to need a lot of work, and may not be the prettiest thing around. If someone does advertise a show-ready 3'+ jumper for under a thousand dollars, I hope you're prepared to spend $500+ on a prepurchase exam complete with Xrays and a drug screen.... ever heard of the saying "too good to be true"? It's a common saying for a very good reason... scams are everywhere. Some people will do anything (including drug a horse to the max - both painkillers and calmers) a horse and sell it to a little girl.
Bottom line is BE CAREFUL. Be prepared to spend money on a good prepurchase exam. I don't want to see your next threads being about a horse that is lame or half-wild because money wasn't spent up front to avoid those sorts of things. Your life is absolutely worth spending that money to make sure the horse is what you want.

You also said you want a horse you don't have to train, you want a horse ready to go - this horse would be going against what you want. So why spend time looking at a horse that you don't want?

Beyond that - most any horse sound of body and mind can clear 3' - it really isn't that high; people pop a horse over one 3' fence and advertise it as a "3' jumper!" when in all reality, the horse isn't even close to being ready or safe to jump over anything bigger than a crossrail.

No, you didn't. You SAID you found a fabulously talented and trained horse for $900, and that there are 'tons' of them out there for that price or less.

I'm sure there are a ton of horses out there for a lot less than $1,000, but what you're looking for isn't going to be in that price range.

Sane, sound, completely trained, talented jumpers aren't going for chump change. They're just not. Whoever trained them to that level knows the animal is worth a lot of money, and they're not going to sell them cheaply.

First.. People can give horse drugs and sell it to old people too.. And second... you guys are blaming me and yelling at mee for something that isnt even called for all I said is that I saw a horse for 900 that can jump and do dressage! This isn't my fault at all if it makes you guys happy I won't even go look at the horse I will lift my budget to 3000 and look for a good safe horse that can jump... I wanted to find a horse for 900 because I wanted enough money to pay for the expensive things you have to do to kept your horse healthy and happy! You guys are probably right about it may be a scam...

You very well may find a horse who is capable of jumping 3ft for cheap. But what it can and should do are very different things! Realistically a well broke horse, who can jump, and isn't over 15 y/o is either a scam, has something wrong, or pulls some nasty refusals so they want it gone NOW. Either way if you're jumping that much you most likely have a trainer who should be helping you find these horses.
