Any meadow mates for sale?

Hi everyone! I already posted this thread in horse talk, but thought I'd try it in horses for sale.

I am looking for a meadow mate for sale. It has to be free or under 600 hundred dollars. It must be in good health. I don't care if it has an old injury or it limps, just not anything very bad, like navicular or bad arthitis. It has to be sweet and tolerate children (my younger sister would be caring for it as her first pony, with my help). It also has to be smaller in size, preferrably under 14.2 hands. If you know of any, please respond! Thanks!

Have you looked at any of your local horse rescues? They usually have horses that would fit that bill. With the economy being the way it is, rescues all over are chock full of horses needing forever homes...good luck in your search!

There's a place in Thurmont MD that auctions horses every week. You could check there.

Last Chance Ranch has quite a few horses. Not many ponies though, Spanky looks cute. Last Chance Ranch - adopt-horses-list

We've looked at LCR before and its very hard to get them to let you adopt one of their horses or ponies :P we'd love to help empty the horse rescues! But we can't find a rescue horse that we really like :P

You can also try these folks, they have had several huge lots of neglected arabs come in lately:
Arabian Rescue Mission - Home************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** ****************************** ?

These gals are located in the eastern part of ohio saving horses from the kill buyers at auction. They work with transshippers and place resuces all over the country:

I know what you mean about LCR, I have looked into a horse their too. Camelot horse weekly lists the horses from the auction that didn't make it into homes every thursday morning. They also list available horses that are currently at rescues.
