Anybody know anyone looking for a project horse in AL or TN?

My boyfriend and I took in a rescue horse(and learned our lesson). He is too much for me to handle and the boyfriend just doesn't have the horse passion to work consistently with him. He is a coming 8 twh gelding. He had 90 days of training at 5 or so then stood in a stall for the next 3 years being neglected. He is fairly out of control. He doesn't buck or rear but he starts his running walk as soon as you hit the saddle and doesn't have much stop. He pretty much ignores the bit and leg aids.

My BO thinks he will make a good horse eventually with work. I was scared to death when I rode him. My feet shook out of the stirrups but all he did was running walk the arena rail. He is great on the ground but he needs a confident, experienced owner(which we are not). His gait is gorgeous and he stays in it beautifully so he could make a decent show horse with some hard work.

We have the option to send him back to the home where he was neglected but we really want him to get the care and training he deserves. Price is very negotiable(maybe non existent to the right home). I have some feelers out elsewhere but I thought I'd check here just in case someone knew of someone :) I can provide pics and more info if anyone is interested :)

The horse is in Birmingham, AL so I was guessing most people wouldn't want to travel too far for a horse with his issues. So...I'd guess southern TN? Although it's pretty well dependent on how far someone would want to come to look.

I tried to tape him but am awful at it. I came out at just under 16h which is probably fairly close. He seems tall for a walker but not super tall.

I would love to post pictures but I have no clue how to do so. I will try to figure it out and post some.

To post pics, upload them to photobucket or something similar and then copy and paste the link beginning with
