Barrel/drill team horse wanted

I'm having no luck finding what I'm looking for, so I figured I'd throw this out there and see if anyone has what I'm needing. I'm moving this weekend to live about 2 minutes from my parents (my horses live on their farm) so I'm wanting to get a barrel horse. I've ridden and shown barrels before, but it was on a horse that I leased and no longer have. My fox trotter has occasional soundness issues so he's had to be retired to be an occasional trail mount. My sister and I are also wanting to start up a rodeo drill team with about 6 other girls from around the area. I'm needing a horse that is sound and is either barrel trained, or has very good potential. I'm not a fan of hot crazy horses, so I want one that knows his job, but isn't nuts and hard to handle. Size doesn't matter but I'd prefer at least 14.3. I tend to prefer geldings over mares, but would consider either. Anyone have something like this? I live in Georgia but can travel pretty much anywhere for the right one. Thanks!

Proud owner of Bleu (MFT), Rebel (AQH), and Pharoh (Saddlebred)

Hey there,

I have a AQHA foundation bred quarter horse mare for sale in Michigan if you are interested. She's a trail horse with prospect to do pretty much anything. Her mother was a show/lesson horse and her father was a reining/cow horse. She has a pretty good mixture of both of them. She's not fully finished yet, but she is a fast learner and loves to work. I'm not sure if you're interested in more info or not on her but she's such a sweet girl I can't wait to see what she can do after she's finished. We're asking 1,200 obo for her. My email addy is She's a sweet girl.

Good luck finding your horse!!

Ugh. I wish you were closer. I have exactly what you are looking for, but I just decided to offer him for lease instead of sale. :(

Good luck!
