Smile Buying a Horse

Hi guys. I wanna get my own horse (and I know that they are a lot of work and are pretty expensive,) But do you have any ideas on how to earn money to buy one? I am only 15 so I can't really get a job. I take a lot of pictures and have thought about earning money that way, but I have no idea how to get started. Any thing helps!

Babysit? Try to get a job at a barn...that way you might gain a little more experience with caring for horses

hmmm...what else? You might be able to find a job even though you're only 15. I'm not sure where you are from, but when I was younger I was able to get a job at 14 as long as I had working papers (got them from my school) and only worked a certain amount of hours per week...might have only been 10-15 hours, I can't remember. I worked at a local ice cream shop.

Is there anything that you could do around your house that your parents might give you an 'allowance' for? I know...everyone's parents are different, and some are not into this!

Ask neighbors if they need any up the yard, mowing the grass, pet walking

Good luck!

Buying one is the cheapest part of owning a horse.

I estimate that each horse I own costs me at least 3500 to 5000 dollars a year, depending on meds/vets/shoeing needs. Also board and feed.

That means 300 a month easily per horse. That is going to be the main problem with getting a horse at your age. That expense is not something I see you being able to take on.
