DAM I wish you were closer! Seeing this made me look on that website to see if anyone in my area had a similar ad. A while ago I put an ad on craigslist saying "I want to ride" posting about how I loved riding but didn't have the money for my own horse and if someone had a horse they needed ridden I'd be more than happy. I had several people reply and rode for a couple different people and I loved it. Maybe you should post an ad saying that you are looking for a riding buddy and you have an extra horse for them to ride, no charge. You'll get some whackos but you can sift through them and maybe find the right person

Thanks, I tried that before over the summer. I had just moved here and had surgery and couldnt ride for a couple months. Long story short, I made stupid mistakes and let someone ride my gelding that has now passed away. She was supposed to know what she was doing and fell off the side of the saddle and was knocked out and left in an ambulance. The horse did NOTHING! She just did not know how to sit in a saddle. We were right here in my yard. It was crazy. She was fine and my husband says I have to get a waiver signed now, lol. That is why I stress the needing experience thing, not becaue I want free training. I just desperatly want a riding buddy! I am talking to a girl in a bit about out it so I hope she works out.

I would look into local resources. Talk to the vet, farrier, tack shops.....local 4-h, pony club..whatever os available. Perhaps there is even a trail riding group-maybe a branch of ACTHA? Or TROT? Spend some time googling maybe.
