I've got a horse to sell and I can't decide on a price. She was raised by us, is 8 years old next month, and is 1/2 Arabian, 1/2 Quarter horse. She's been trained to ride and has been ridden around the farm and on trail rides alot. I taught her to drive and she has pulled all sorts of stuff from a harrow, to a fancy black surrey. She's smoky black (black with a creme gene so she fades to a dark chocolate color) and has thrown a buckskin and palomino foal. I've never purchased a horse before, just had her bred (she came free with my wife :) so I don't have a real good feel for what I should ask for her. I do know that I've put lots of time into her and it should mean alot to a buyer that she's trained to ride and drive.

She has really good, hard hooves so we only shoe her if she's going to be on the road or gravel alot.

She will side step, neck rein, back up and whoa on voice command, and bow (only if you help her by picking up her hoof). She will even back up when you're lunging her and she's away from you.

I'm in southeast Missouri and I have some people looking at her but I don't know what to ask for her... please help me with a price range. Also, if you're interested email me at stevenlegrand@gmail.com

I believe that she is just under 15 hands.
If you're wanting a well rounded riding and or pleasure driving horse I don't know why someone wouldn't want an arab/qh cross if most crosses are anything like her. She's mid sized, fast, smart, high endurance (she's the LAST horse to start sweating on a trail ride), and has good feet.

Considering the market, she's actually in a very desirable position right now: right age, good level of training. If she were purebred or had a lot of show experience, I think you could get more for her. I think Irish is right, 2-3k is most likely, with good marketing (good photos, nice sales video). I guess you could always start high and reduce the price if you don't get any interest, but I don't think I'd go over 4-5k.
