Explorer Mounted Patrol

I am a part of the Pinellas Park Police Explorers and for all of you's who dont know what that is, is a program that allows teenagers to get a foot in on becoming a police officer. We volunteer in the city often helping with traffic, parking, security, etc and we also get all the training that police officers get. We go on ride alongs with police officers and conduct traffic stops etc.
There are over 100 different posts in the Florida alone and HUNDREDS in the US. We compete locally, and nationally. We were state champs of 2005.
Pasco county is the only post in Florida with an Explorer Mounted Unit.
Our chief of the police department has horses of her own and wants to start up a mounted unit for the explorers.
The horses would get the same training that the actual mounted patrol does and I would be the one in charge of it all.
They want to get it up and running by about spring time.
The department is now looking for horses to purchase for this program and they have put me in charge of it.
If anyone would like to become a sponser and maybe has horses that need to be taken off of their hands please let me know. Green broke horses are also welcome. Not picky about what breed. I have about 5 months to work with the horses until they would go into actual training for it.
If you dont have any horses and would still like to become a sponser and donate, anything is welcome. Halters, brushes, buckets, etc, We are a non profit organization afilliated with the Boy Scouts of America so we raise all of our money from fund raisers and sponsers.

We are located in Pinellas Park Florida (Pinellas County) and I am willing to travel to pick up things. Or they can be shipped.
