I have made the decision to try and find my qh gelding a new home. He is 18ish years young, 14.3 hh, and a retired barrel racer. He trail rides like a dream, and I have been using him at ranch sorting competitions. He has hard barefoot feet, and never gets tenderfooted on trails. I want to be as honest as I can about him so I will say that he is a tad barn sour. He gets better with work, but without being used, he goes back to it. He has exercise induced cough. He can trail ride all day long, and does the ranch sorting with no issues, but trying to run a barrel pattern he will cough. I have had it checked out by the vet, and the vet said he could not find anything health related to it that would cause him to be incapacitated from it, its just from hard excersise and being out of shape.

He is NOT Kid broke. Don't let his age fool you. He doesnt rear, buck, spook, bite, kick, but he is fast paced, and I would not put a begginner on him and turn them loose. He could be rode by an older intermediate child.

He is located in Tennessee around the Nashville area. I can not travel, so anyone interested in him would have to come pick him up.

Thanks guys, I hope so to. I've had him for 13 years, but I'm positive I am making the right decision. I wish you were closer to, he really is a great horse.

Why are you selling him if you don't mind me asking? Too bad he wasn't a bit taller he would be what we are looking for once my haflinger sells and we are only a couple hours away.

If you were in wv I'd take him my horse is the only horse he needs a buddy and around here I haven't even found any horses worth buying and all the free ones need too much work

With no cost for the horse involved and the fact he is still rideable I would think he would be a great deal for an intermediate rider who wanted a horse to trail ride with. He is obviously well broke, (they all get barn sour when they aren't used), if I had the room he'd be in my barn tomorrow. Horses like this are worth more than free, sad this is such a crappy economy.
