Gin Rummy - AQH mare

I was browsing the internet last week and I came across a local AQH breeder that lives just down the road, about five miles north of my home. She and her husband currently have three horses for sale - two stallions and a mare. The mare was what really interested me. She's 15'3", a red roan, and has been under a western saddle for seven years now. She'll be turning ten this fall. Not only would she be a good beginners horse for the kids that come by her time and again, but she seems to have real potential in the show ring, according to the videos that are posted beneath her. I contacted the seller yesterday morning, and she's currently for sale at $3,500. Should I buy her?

$3500.00, Sounds high to me. With out seeing the horse. Around here that would be around a $500-700,horse.

I disagree.

If the mare has truly been ridden for 7 years and is safe for your children- $3500 is very reasonable. Especially given her size and color. I say try her and if you like her...go for it :)
