At only 6 years of age, Melody's best years are still ahead of her. She stands 13.1hh. Her breeding is Arabian Pony, and she is an eyecatching golden buckskin.
Mel is possibly the quietest horse on the ground I have ever known.
She can have tarps waved around, barrels rolled under her, has shown absolutely no kick or other vice, You can catch her by her tail..... she hasn't baulked at anything I've thrown at her (figuratively!) except walking through water, that took a bit of convincing. She lunges on word command.
To ride, I have had no problem with her either bareback or under saddle. Mel has an extremely soft mouth and will often obey word command only. She has been well broken in. Currently not in 'work' - I just ride her bareback every couple of weeks to stay in touch.
Although Mel is quiet she is not a beginners pony, as she works well under a capable rider with independent seat/hands and can ride properly (leg aids etc). She gets confused if a rider uses the reins to balance. She will go very slowly and hesitantly if a rider isn't confident, and can be difficult to get into a trot.
Mel is not currently registered, but I believe she was registered as a foal and the previous owner didnt worry about keeping the registration up. I believe she can be re-registered if you're that way inclined. She was dual registered Part Bred Arabian and Buckskin, under the name Ajays Love Note.
Date of birth 21/9/06.
Mel should throw coloured foals if put to the right stallion (chestnut or carrying a dilute gene).
