The Horse Market

I know the horse market is down pretty bad right now, and that is due in large part to the winter time. But I started buying training and selling horses because it is part of a passion of mine. I love training and working with gaited horses. I even went to Kentucky to work as a trainer down there for a while. All that said I was wondering if anyone has advice to sell right now? I have 6 horses and would like to sell at least 3-4 of them during the winter.
I started with graduation money from high school, bought 2 and sold 1 ( my favorite who I took to the internationals and won some classes with). And the original purpose was this would be my job to help pay for college. Any advice would be great!

Are you advertising on any of the horse classifieds online? Dreamhorse.com equine.com I'm sure there is more. I have had best luck with dreamhorse.

Yea I have been, I don't know maybe im just getting antsy because I need to pay off my next semester classes soon... I know when the show season comes around I will be able to show these guys off like I did with the first one.

Just hope for the best I guess. It is really tough to sell a horse this time of year unless it is a Christmas gift. Plus with hay being in short supply in so many areas makes it worse. Be patient you will get them sold. I have 4 Rockys so don't need any more, sure love them thought.

The horse market is really scarry right now every where...sad thing is that I can show up in dodge city kansas with a horse trailer at the auction house and walk out with a horse for $50.00...that's sad...

I just read that some 18,000 (Jan-Aug 2007)horses have been exported to Canada for slaughter.
36,000 to Mexico for slaughter (Jan-Oct 2007)
