Horses Up for Adoption - Cape Town, South Africa

Hi there,

I know there are a few South Africans on this forum and I wanted to get the information on these horses out there to as many people as possible to find them homes.

Here are the links to the two Facebook pages:
Horse Adoption Page SPCA - Grassy Park, Cape Town | Facebook
Western Cape Equine Trust - Rehorp | Facebook

These are the horses that are available for adoption at the moment that I'm aware of:

Status: Up for Adoption
Name: Sierra del Playa
Breed: Thoroughbred
Sex: Gelding
Age: 4 1/2 years
Hight: 16.2HH

Details: One of our REHORP horses, kindly donated by the racecourse. Suitable for the experienced rider looking to school a horse from scratch. Has been backed and ridden, but needs a lot of stretching and ground work.

Status: Up for Adoption
Name: Sugar Tax
Breed: Saddler
Sex: Mare
Age: Estimated 6
Height: Estimated 16HH

Details: Amazing horse. Calm and placid, and trains very well. Loves running in the arena, and has very unique and long features. Recommendable for any rider.

Status: Up for Adoption
Name: Roxy
Sex: Mare
age: 10
Breed: Thoroughbred
Height in Hands: 15.1

Details: Brilliant temperament, motherly and level minded. Trusts easily, and has a lovely stride. Has not been ridden in a while, and needs ground schooling to rebuild muscle structure. One of the most complacent and gentle horses at the SPCA at present. I can advise this horse to any home capable of keeping her as a loyal companion and friend.

Status: Up for Adoption
Name: Catmandu
Breed: Thoroughbred
Sex: Gelding
Age: 8

Details: Catmandu is an alert, level headed ex-racehorse. Nice temperament, and trained under the saddle. He is one of the Racehorse Rehab donated horses, and will do well in a home where he will be ridden.

Baby Game is a 3 year old, 16.3hh Filly . Kindly donated by Snaith Racing stables as part of REHORP (Rehoming of ex race horses project)

She has a lovely temperament, is sound, has no ill vices, once she has been schooled to standard she will be a magnificent horse that should excel in all riding disciplines.

Dam: She's Game (AUS)

Sire: God's Own (AUS)

She is an absolute must see to fully appreciate how gorgeous she is.
