I'm afraid that what she is worth to you doesn't translate to what the market says. In my area, $1,000 to $1,200 would be a lot.

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

It's not always what you say but what they hear.

Yep - which is often the case. OP, you asked for honest input and got it, whether it was what you *wanted* to hear or not is beside the point.

Thumbs up

Well thank you for the honest opinions and I was not offended by any of them so no need to get rude or testy. I decided not to sell her. I am moving to West Texas before long to a bigger place for my ranch and I will need her there. I do have 5 horses for sale though. Make offers, no reserves, hauling 3 horses with me and one is pregnant and will drop the foal in 2 months. Paints, solids, brood mares, pasture pets, yada yada

went and looked at her. wow she is gorgeous:), honestly thats what sells a horse. if theyre built good and have a pretty coat color, the buyer wants her. but the economy isnt great, not many people are out looking for a horse right now, stick to the price of 2500, especially if you arent in a hurry to sell her, some one will come along....

You might get $2500 for her. Like Bubba said it would depend on if she wins and how fast she is. I think $1500 to $2000 is more realistic though.

So in lies the madness, the pursuit of the impossible in the face of the complete assurance that you will fail, and yet still you chase.

Well if she ever was ran in a rodeo in barrels she would probly be a 3D and be a winner. She could be moved to 2D and 1D with some time. This horse has some legs and lungs and will run as fast as you will let her. I decided to continue to sell her so that I will have some extra money to move with my other two horses seeing that my other mare is pregnant and should have the foal by the time we move so. And me telling people the TRUTH about this horse is what makes an honest person and living. I don't lie when I sell my horses and that is what makes a true sales person in my eyes. Every wrong step this horse has took I was behind it. She has never done it other wise. Amazing horse with amazing personality, good build, beautiful color and markings :) I put her price at 1,757 for now seeing that i have 4 other horses to sale.... Oh and thank you for the comments on my mare:)

Every horse has potential to do or be something. Unfortunately a buyer has to take what is standing on the ground at the moment. If you want to deal with the 'if's', the horse could get hurt in the trailer and never be sound again.

The mare is worth what someone is willing to pay. If you feel she is going to be a 1D barrel horse, market her to that audience.

I'm confused!! Yesterday you said you weren't gonna sell her because you can use her on your new ranch and today you've listed her at $1757?! Did the ranch deal not go through?

The ranch deal is fine it is just that i have another mare fixing to drop a foal in 2 Months to a month and i need to pay for vet and also im going to use the money to get a truck seeing we are barrowing one. if nobody buys her by the time i move then i will keep her i guess
