The canadian college champion breakaway roping horse and has runs in 3 secs. He is also a awsome head horse, looks like hes about 12. Shows really well in the show ring. And jumps 2ft ! Beginers only on the trail and intermediate at least in the arena

Well being his age even though he has all that under his belt I'd say not a whole lot around here you might get 2000. That is a big maybe because we don't have the best horse market and not many are willing to pay a whole lot for an older horse, especially an older one who isn't a total beginner mount as generally it's the beginners looking at oldies (not always). My trainer gave away her 20yr old barrel/rope horse for free because he was so broken down all he could be was a pasture friend he found a great home with a huge pasture.

I never said i wanted to sell either of them i just want to find out what they are worth!

Why? They're worth nothing to anyone else, and hopefully everything to you.

None of us can place a monetary value on your oldsters, especially just for you to tell people, 'My horse is worth XX dollars. Aren't you impressed?'

No one can tell you what they are worth, depends on where you are, local conditions are so important.

The only times you need to out a price on a horse is for insurance, or because you are selling. Since your horses are older, insurance would be difficult, and you are not selling so it really is a pointless exercise.

I have a beautifully bred Arab mare here, she is retired from breeding, to worn out from breeding to ride, her value in money terms $0, if you wanted to buy her from me though, you would have to pay..........no there just isn't the money to buy her, to be she is a jewel beyond price.

Any horse is only worth what somebody else is willing to pay.

I have seen older horses advertised for prices that made me laugh and comment, "In your dreams." Especially when the seller lists their ailments and restrictions, or the ever-popular "Companion horse only."

I believe the value in an older horse is in their training and the fact that they often serve as nice mounts for novice adults and children just learning. But the dollar value is minimal due to the fact that their time is limited and one can look at increasing maintenance costs.

Sweetie we all have told you. We have told you that it is impossible to value horses without pics, pedigrees, location, etc, all will affect the market. We have also told you that aged horses have little monetary value, but are worth more than their weight in gold.

If you are not intending to sell, you can put whatever value you like on them, if you want to boast say that the hold guy was worth $15,000 in his prime even $50000 if you like. The sad truth is that they are both now worth about 35 cents a pound, and that is the truth of it.

He is old enough to drop dead. One of my horses lived until he was 35yo, one lived to be 28yo, two lived until each for 27yo, and another lived until he was 24yo.
UNfortunately, no value$ anywhere near his true value. Can't see why you want to know since an insurance company wouldn't insure him unless he was a stud.
