Hmmm. Lets see if I can remember all of them. I still have every horse I have ever bought...........the older ones were bought by my Dad but they are considered mine now.

Flash: (registered sorrel AQHA Dandy Flash Dancer Quarter Horse) free because the vet had advised a friend to have him put down due to navicular (this was 20 years ago)

Sis: (registered sorrel AQHA granddaughter of Mr. San Peppy) $800 about 20 years ago. She was green broke when we got her

Flipper: (unregistered brown TB) $300 to save him from the killer truck.

Denny: (15 yo unregistered Bay QH) free because the owner gave him to me instead of paying the training bill because she was broke.

Dobe: (7 yo Gray BLM Mustang) $125. The family who adopted him were scared because he was so wild. They just wanted their adoption fee back. He was a 3 yo stud when I got him

Jet: (I guess he is 9 now.....registered sorrel APHA Mr. Zippo's Easy Jet) $500. The people who bred him, same people who owned Dobe, had never handled him and were afraid of him. He was a 5 yo stud when I first got him. Sold him a few months later for $3500

Koda: (7 yo Bay BLM Mustang) $125. The lady who adopted him sent him to a "professional" trainer who sent him back saying that he couldn't be broken. (HA!!!) She just wanted her adoption fee back.

John: (4 1/2 yo registered Black Percheron Stallion...(sp?)Shalinka's Stormy Knight) $400. Got John and his mate (mare) at a draft horse sale in Kingman KS. Paid $800 for the pair. Unfortunately, Steph was snakebit last fall and died. :( So now John is my new saddle horse.

Olen: (25 yo unregistered brown Mini-Burro) Free. He just showed up one day on one of my Dad's friend's cattle trucks and he didn't want him so he gave him to us. He was my first "horse" when I was 3. He is all of about 34 inches tall.

Brighteyes is right, sometimes the best things in life are free. LOL.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
