Exclamation Internet Scams!!!

WARNING! THIS HAPPENED TO ME TODAY!

I saw an ad on Horsetopia for a Gypsy Vanner stallion, Austin, TX. $600. The ad said the horse was a three year old. I thought it was a reasonable deal and I emailed them.

Immediately
a email arrived in my mail box. It stated that the people weren't home and could have the horse shipped to my house within the next day. I emailed them back asking if I could pick it up myself, I said I had a nice trailer and good running truck, and I only live in Oklahoma. They said the horse was in Seattle, with them, on a crusade mission? Okay....

I realized it was a scam. They said I would pay $600 to have the horse delivered from Seattle to my house, and it would be there tomorrow evening. Just to see what they would do, I asked them if they had pictures available. Right away they sent the pictures. They were the right breed alright, but the scenery did not look like Texas, which was there the horse should have been. Plus, they said the horse was only 14hh and in the picture it looked taller. I asked if I could have the transportation company's phone number to which they would send the horse. At first, they said they didn't know what company to use, then they gave me 202 area code phone number. I googled it and found the same number was used to try and sell Registered AKC dogs and it was on a 'annoying call list' website as well.

So I caution BE CAREFUL!!!

That is so sad that people can't just be honest and get a job like the rest of us to earn money instead of scamming others. I just don't get it.

These type of scams are rampant any more, I had advertised Misty on Craigslist only to have my email box flooded with emails wanting to know "if the item" was still available etc etc. Since when is a horse an item? Anyhow people do need to be cautious a girl I worked with got taken for 500$ for a Yorkie that she wired the money to the person and needless to say never got her puppy. If I had known prior to her doing the transaction I would have warned her but she didn't mention it until it was all said and done.
