He is the sweetest horse you will ever meet. He has made me twice the rider I am today in the 6 months I've had him.
However, he did race for an exceptionally long time (6+ years), and it has taken its toll on his body. I originally purchased him as a hunter prospect after he was pastured for around 5 years. He loves to jump, but his bones are not letting him do it. We have put so much money into this horse. Teeth were floated in June, vetted in May, wormed regularly, has had chiropractic work done. We were told he might be able to work as a hunter with continuous chiro work and hock injections, but my parents have decided we just can't afford that.
I'm putting up this ad in the hope someone is looking for a trail or companion horse. He is NOT spooky. Fireworks, cars, gunshots, dogs...nothing bothers him. He does, however, get a bit excited on the trail sometimes. I'm going to be completely honest about this, being off-the-track, he will occasionally bolt on the trail without warning, so he will need an experienced rider or someone who has dealt with OTTBs before when outside of an arena.
He's a VERY good boy. All he wants to do is please you. He will try his heart out for you, even when in pain...
He's never offered to kick or bite. He is very laid-back on the ground. He never bucks under saddle unless he is in pain.
Please, someone help me find him a good home.
