Children/Adult Jumper -- For Lease
Homer is a 16.1hh 2001 Thoroughbred gelding. Homer is well schooled on the flat, and very honest over fences. He is a solid 3'3" jumper and ready to move up. For the past two years, he has been successfully competing in the level 1 and 2's at A-rated shows, winning many ribbons. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to get experience in the jumpers or wanting to be competitive in the ch/ad jumpers. He is quiet, trails, clips and loads. Unfortunately his owner currently does not have time to ride him. Homer is available for a full or half lease. This is on-farm lease ONLY.

I really need to lease him out. I am studying abroad in February and would like him to have a person while I am away. I know it is difficult to find someone to do on farm leases, but hoping I can find someone =)
A couple of people have asked to take him off farm. I am personally not comfortable with letting him off farm. I have heard and witnessed so many horror stories about it. Especially with me being out of the country I would like him to stay with my trainer, who I trust. I know things can always go wrong, but I would rather him be somewhere I know.
Oh, I totally understand that, I just didn't know if maybe there were any other reputable stables near you that would have someone that didn't mind coming to another barn to ride for the duration of the lease. Or if maybe they had someone who had approached them looking for a lease that they weren't able to accommodate.
There are a few around us that are reputable, but also that are known for jumping their horses pretty hard and I'd like to save his legs lol. I think I'd be a little more flexible if I were in the country, but not being around if something goes wrong with someone who I don't know and doesn't really know him just makes me nervous Posted via Mobile Device
What part of New York is he at? I have some contacts in various areas of the state maybe I can send someone to you. At the very least I can spread the word around for you =)
Where in NJ? I've been on and off about switching to a more reputable barn, and if this one is within driving distance I may be willing to switch for a free lease...If you're near Staten Island as you said it might be too far.
