    Lease Option

I've been looking for a new horse to lease but have not been able to find anything other than hunter/jumpers in my area. My barn owners were given a gelding this past week and they are leasing him out What does everyone think? He's a Quarter Horse cross and stands about 16.1 hh. He goes western and is bombproof. The vet is guessing about 16 years of age, maybe a few years younger. I'm only looking for a pleasure/trail horse to ride maybe 3 days a week. I don't show however he is trained on barrels/poles if I wanted to go that option....

    $200 a month on a month-to-month basis....

    Meet Bacardi!

I think 200 is a pretty good deal. If the two of you get along well, I don't see why not.

Yeah $200 is very cheap for around here but we're friends (I purchased my first 2 horses from them and boarded them there) so it's a good deal. $200 is $25.00 less a month than if I were to buy one of the babies they have for sale and board it with them. We may be moving in the near future though so i'm thinking the lease would make more sense :)

Well, I'm back from my trip and went over to the barn to meet Bacardi today. He's not bad at all! He's very high in the withers so he will be tricky to saddle fit but other than that he isn't too bad. :)

Yeah, I think i'm going to! I was going to go over this evening and ride him for the first time but it was very humid today so it was just too hot by the time it was getting dark to ride.
