I've owned a horse my whole life but now that the economy is so bad I had to sell anyways I really really miss it and the only way I think it's possible is to lease ... What are the pros and cons to leasing a horse?
I was leasing up until I adopted Hunter. The only con I had was that he wasn't my horse. Depends on what your agreement is, I had a great deal. $80 a month and I could ride whenever I wanted. No farrier biils, no vet bills, no feed bills, no board bills. All I had to do was go and brush him and ride. Now I have it pretty good to cause I own Hunter who,s only 2 but I still get to ride Duke.
Wow! 80$ a month? I paid the cost of board (300$), farrier (95$ every 6 weeks), and show fees but I got to use him whenever I wanted and he was pretty much my horse
I am leasing Candy (horse in avvie) and I pay 20$ a month, and I help out every monday at the barn. All I do is bring in 30 horses and feed, and change water buckets ect. I get to ride whenever I want, and I have been showing her all summer long! Its great!!
