Question Leasing a pony

So I am interested in leasing a pony for my son. He's more obsessed than I am. Thankfully he has no idea about internet.
Anyhow, the horse Spanky is said to be for lease for $30-$50 a month. I know nothing about leasing, so I was just needing someone to explain to me what I should expect, or ask about. I am not going to be taking on vet bills, that's for sure. But other than that, what is involved in a typical lease?

I'm concerned by the statement that "he does not canter yet." Why does he canter yet? What does he do at a canter that makes it so bad? Otherwise he looks super cute! =) I don't know much about leasing but I have leased a horse before and basically I just went and rode the horse three times a week and it was good. I didn't pay for vet, feed, or farrier bills either. Usually though I would figure the owner would outline to you what they're expecting from the lease, like whether you're feeding him twice a day or taking care of his farrier needs or what. Good luck! =)

Well, I guess around here it's called a part-board or quarter-board if I'm to just pay a fee. I'm thinking the owner wants me to board him closer to me. I don't have my own place to keep him.
Also, I'm not sure how old she is. Is she is not yet legally an adult, will that factor in? Would I need to sign a contract with her parents if she is too young?

I don't know about him...I see a little too many holes in the description...no saddle...30 minutes away so she can still use him...how much will she use him???.... "I need the money to prove to my parents that I can pay.."...... "Does not canter yet which is why I need to be able to go to teach him.".... "bit sluggish at times and can be hard to catch"..."RiderMUST be under 85 pounds."....How old is the girl leasing??????????......I think I would run away from this deal even though it doesn't sound like much money.....if your in a contract for a period of time you will hate having something you can't get along with.
