Looking for beginner all-arounder in/near IN

Hi guys. Thought I'd post here as well. I am currently looking for a mount for one of my younger students. He is 8 years old and has been riding with me for a year, quite the solid little rider. His family has asked me to hunt down a good starter horse for him for open & 4-H shows. He wants my old sorrel mare but my daughter won't give her up, nor will I

What I'm after
-Something been there, done that. Preferable all-arounder with good showmanship patterns, wp, hus, show trail. He may also do speed events for fun, but he isn't ready for anything with a big motor at this point.

Mare or gelding, doesn't matter. AQHA or APHA (minimal white preferable if we go APHA)/ 14hh - 16hh, nothing larger. No youngsters, something with a bit of age but not over the hill. Would like to find something with enough experience but not too aged that would last for the next 10 years for 4-H.

Good, clean legs are a must with no major health issues. Will do a full ppe with scans on anything considered. Willing to travel some for the right one, IN or surrounding states. Looking in the 5k price range. If you have or know of one that might fit the bill, please pm me info. Thanks!

Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important, Capture the good times, Develop from the negatives and if things don't work out, Take another shot.
