Looking for a horse to lease in VA

I live in suffolk va, and I am looking for a horse to lease in exchange for barn work. I need something to boost my confidence level and is beginner friendly. A sort of been there done that kind of horse. Of course I would be willing to take some lessons just need the right and the right person to get me there.

Thanks for reading.

*Update*
So after the bad experience I've been posting on Craigslist hoping to get some nibbles, and was only successful with two. One response was a definite no, the other one I really liked. She sounded very nice and I get to meet her and her place this weekend. Wish me luck.

Good luck! I would offer but I'm in PA. Hope you find something and don't let a few bad experiences turn you off!

Thank you, I hope all goes well myself. If anything I'll be content with just taking lessons right now.

Don't know if you'd be interested, but if you want to ride a push button horse, you can come and ride with me sometime. Spotsy is a bit of a drive from Suffolk, but my DH doesn't ride Rosie all that much, and she was my confidence builder. I do know that it would be a day trip for you, but if you just need that little boost, I can help out a little until you find somewhere to take lessons. And all you would have to do or pay for is the gas to come up.

Wow thank you so much, yeah its a big of a drive for me at the moment. If I wasn't doing so much between work and school, I'd take it in a heart beat. Until then I need all the rest I can get, lol.

I found a place she's a bit father out than I would like but she seems solid. Problem is now finding a time schedule to squeeze me in at, because of school and work. It also doesn't help that she only teaches four days a week.

The offer still stands if you want to ride on a weekend.

Thank you, very nice of you to offer. ;) Counting down to my last two classes so want to dedicate as much time as I can to passing. Wish I lived closer though.
