Yay! My area of expertise, I can actually help answer a question. Mustangs are great horses, but most of them are "wild" when you adopt them unless they were surrendered to you. They require persistent training, and I have found that they tend to have a mind of their own. I got my first Mustang two years ago, he was three. You could barely get on him, he would bolt, buck, rear, wouldn't stay on the rail (later on), would dart away, barn sour, everything. Now, he is my perfect little pony and we are happily registered in local shows.
I actually may be selling that very pony, that's another thing, Mustangs are very short, usually not exceed 14.3hh, unless mixed with something else. My pony is GORGEOUS, he's a perfect, flawless example of a Buckskin and he is the sweetest Gelding you'll meet! He jumps up to 3"3 with the right person on his back! :) |
