New to trading!! What are the steps I should take in trading my horse!?

I have recently bought a horse that I thought would work out for me and sadly she just isn't. I have found someone who would like to trade me for her. It would be an even trade of my horse for her horse. What should I do when she comes to trade? I know I will give her the papers of registration and such, but do I need to make a receipt or anything? Help me out! Helpfull random tips on trading are welcome also! I am a newby at trading.

You need to have a Bill of Sale drawn up on each horse, listing that horse A is an equal trade to horse B, and vice versa. Make sure that both of you sign and date the papers, and each of you should get a copy. That way, everything's in writing and neither of you can go back and say you didn't know what you were getting into.

We never make a big deal of it. Just swap lead ropes and go. Half the time one or the other of us isn't even home lol. I've found horses tied to our rail lol.

As was said above, document EVERYTHING. You may need this papertrail somewhere down the line, should something happen. If you can, have a witness to view the signing of the papers to ensure there are no hiccups.

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.
