Older trail horse wanted

Thought I'd post here in case someone had something or had seen something I might be interested in. I am looking at a 20 year old gelding this weekend, but wanted some other options in case things didn't work out with him as I haven't even seen him. I am looking for an older been there done that type trail horse. Prefer older teens, maybe early 20s. Something that you can just pull out of the pasture and go for a quiet ride on without having to lunge or work before heading out. Need something sound enough to mostly walk and lightly trot/canter for a couple hours 3-6 times a week. Something not spooky. I'd like a horse that will go out alone on occassion, but will mostly be ridden with another horse, needs to be able to lead.
I do not care about height, although I really don't want anything much over 16 hands, and prefer over 14.2.
I do not have a lot to spend as I was just recently scammed with a "family safe" rearing/bolting horse and lost $1100 on him. I'd like a free lease or a cheaper horse to purchase or even lease to own. I can provide references and photos of our horses and facilities if needed.
I live in eastern pa an hour and half north of philly and really don't want to travel more than a couple hours.

My friend has a WONDERFUL gelding, I can vouch for him. He's 15.3, TB/Paint, registered APHA Kentucky Clown. He's solid, has a smooth trot/canter, EXTREMELY trail broke. He was used at a public riding stable for a while. I have ridden him bareback on tons of trails in all kinds of situations. He's probably around 16 or so right now? I would have to ask for sure. I know he's over 15, but he is younger than 20. He neck-reins, can ride english or western, used to be a jumper... cannot say enough good things about this horse. $700 - which is a steal. If I had the room I would get him myself!! He's a fantastic horse!! Owner is kind of in a strange place and is considering getting out of riding altogether, or buying a gaited horse. This horse is broke as broke gets, and he's FUN to boot. Go slow or pick up the pace - he'll do it all. Geez, writing this makes me wish I could get him even more! He's in Louisville, KY.

I just read a quote on one of the pictures she posted in 2008 of him stating he was 14, so he is around 17 now.

He sounds wonderful, but I did end up bringing the 20 year old gelding home with me. Thank you for posting, maybe someone else here will see him.
