Thought I'd post here in case someone had something or had seen something I might be interested in. I am looking at a 20 year old gelding this weekend, but wanted some other options in case things didn't work out with him as I haven't even seen him. I am looking for an older been there done that type trail horse. Prefer older teens, maybe early 20s. Something that you can just pull out of the pasture and go for a quiet ride on without having to lunge or work before heading out. Need something sound enough to mostly walk and lightly trot/canter for a couple hours 3-6 times a week. Something not spooky. I'd like a horse that will go out alone on occassion, but will mostly be ridden with another horse, needs to be able to lead.
I do not care about height, although I really don't want anything much over 16 hands, and prefer over 14.2.
I do not have a lot to spend as I was just recently scammed with a "family safe" rearing/bolting horse and lost $1100 on him. I'd like a free lease or a cheaper horse to purchase or even lease to own. I can provide references and photos of our horses and facilities if needed.
I live in eastern pa an hour and half north of philly and really don't want to travel more than a couple hours.
