I lease right now. I don't have the time to fully devote to an owned horse. Plus, I don't make that much money.

I full lease though, which is exactly like owning your own horse. It's great becuase the costs are low and you get to spend as much or as little time with the horse as you want. My parents said that if I relaly liked the horse after a while of leasing, we might just buy it.

Well before I thougth about buying a horse, I leased my first pony for the whole summer, and showed him to. We leased him to see what it would be like to own one, imo you should lease before you buy, because it shows you what the upkeep is, the responsibilty, etc. Its not always fun and games when it comes to buying a horse, (mostley fun) but you have to make sure you are epuipet to owning one. That's what I did before I thougth about buying a horse.

I just take lessons, but not because it's my choice, it's because my parents refuse to let me buy!

I would much prefer to own my own my own horse because what if you really connect and then you have to give the horse back. It would be like losing a best friend.

I LOVE keva, I lease her and the lady pretty much gave her to me, the only thing is I can't sell her ( like I would) or breed her without her looking at the stud....
