Pocos Little Duke

I'm considering going to see this gelding. Here's what was written on his ad..."Pocos Little Duke. Is an 2006 Gelding. Has a lot of cow breeding that goes back to Poco Bueno. Was broke as 3 year old and just trailrode. I just recently legged him back up and working him in the area. He does all the basics. Duke is very atheltic and quick. I have been taking him through the barrel pattern and tracked steers on him. He could make a really nice barrel horse or heal horse. He has no bad habits. Stands for the shoer, doesn't kick or buck. Loads and backs out of the trailer. I will start hauling him and the price will go up. As of now I am listing him for $1,700. He is great horse just needs someone to give him a job and take him to the next level." What do you think about his conformation? I can't tell if it's just the way the second picture is making it look, but he seems camped out in that.

Beautiful horse, I hope you find a good home for him!
I don't think he's camped out at all. If anything, he is a tad sickle-hocked but not to a severe degree. I've noticed this quite alot on QH's.
Overall he actually has fairly nice confo ;)

Thanks, he's not mine, I am considering going out to look at him to buy as my new barrel horse. Hmm okay I can't tell what exactly, but I know something is alittle off in the hind legs.

Yearling
Overall he is built nice, only thing I would change would he to give him some more bone in his legs, his cannon bones look very narrow. His head also looks on the larger side but not sure if that's the camera or his neck being so thin. I like his hip and shoulder and his neck ties in nice to his body.

Thanks for your replies. That's what I'm thinking too. Something with his legs just doesn't look right, as you said, I just can't pinpoint what it is.

I think what you all might be seeing is that he is tied in at the knee, and the same issue (thought I can't remember the right word for it) at the hock. The canon is as if it is too small for the knee or hock joint above it. I do not know if such a thing is a severe fault. Otherwise, I think he is a nice looking horse.
