Rescue Horse for Showmanship?

I'm looking to rescue a companion only horse and do some local Showmanship/in-hand classes, nothing major, just fun stuff and really want to give a non-rideable horse a good life, that it may otherwise not have. Love horses, never really enjoyed riding so this is my happy in-between.

I've had my eye on this guy for a while now and would love some feedback. He's a little older than I was wanting (20), but he seems to check all the other boxes for me and I think he is super nice to look at, bonus! But personality and ground manners are paramount, and watching the video I just think he'd be great. I'm not the most trained eye so I'd love to know what others think.

First of all and most importantly,, Why is he just a companion horse? To do showmanship they need to be sound. He is pretty. So if all you want is a pretty pet, and can afford to keep him, ..
