Has anyone seen any mention on how they are going to sell or auction these horses off yet?

I saw an article with dates and times to see the mega-expensive RV that is going to be auctioned off.

I'm more curious then anything else. I've never seen how they do these types of auctions or sales when assets have been ceased. I wonder if they'll do any online type auction like the BLM does and if the horses come with papers or if they'll be sold w/out?

I had seen somewhere that AQHA was discussing how to handle current breedings of mares to her stallions.

Just more interested then anthing else. Does anyone know anything about it?

Via some folks in that end of the QH world, it will take a couple of years to sort through things.

In the meantime, the FBI has to foot the training/feed/vet, etc bills for all of those horses . . .

I was reading a site from an auctioneer who said they passed on handling the auction of these horses. The gov't will not pay any of the costs associated with holding an auction for just these horses, want all costs & fees paid by the purchasers of the horses. Per the auctioneer, this would make the horses too expensive and he didn't feel they would sell. If most of the other auctioneers feel the same way, I suspect they will end up going through a local auction a group at a time. Really sad!

A multi day live auction. I'm thinking we should do a road trip!!!!

I wonder what the horses will go for? I read somewhere that they generally sold for 10-30k....

I'm assuming they are not all halter horses.

It's a real shame if you think about it. They might get a million dollars for that bus, if they are lucky and then lets say these horses go really high, like 30k a piece.... what is that? 400 horses x 30k = 12,000,000....

Take away the cost to care for these animals for the time that the government has had them and that doesn't really even come close to the $53M that she stole from her county.

Do you think they'll sell her property? I would love to go to that auction....

I'm the closest, we can take my trailer to save on gas! There's room for one horse a piece for the three of us

I don't know if it is all halter horses or not. If so, I'll save trailer room for you all. I'll take the motor coach, suppose they'd take a rubber check? ;)
