For Sale

Sorry, it's long:
At one time he was a seasoned barrel horse. I haven't really shown him, /I took him in 1 time only in June and just trotted. He knows the pattern and the turn, but is out of shape and needs to be a little refreshed on the pattern. He used to do Jr rodeo and HS rodeo; he did barrels, poles and goat tying. He used to run 19's, 18's and 17,'s in barrels and could do better. He was shown gymkhana and ran in AAA and AAA+ divisions. He was also champion horse 2 years in a row. His only vices are that he can be hot at shows and when he doesn’t get out enough and a little cinchy and ear shy. I've got him pretty much over his cinchiness and I think he is ear shy because I think someone once used an ear twitch on him. Being in High School I don't have time to take him out enough or show him to his potential.
Gus (Rocasaurus) is a very sweet boy. 2002 and 2003 gymkhana champion! 11yr old 16 hd reg. sorrel appendix geld. Intermediate- Adv rider. He's been there done that! Speed Bred Bloodlines! Very versatile. He lunges with just commands, has been jumped 3’0” and capable of more, extended trot, side passes, leg yields, Rounded Frame, turns great, neck reins, responds well, and accelerates! He hops right in the trailer and is good on trail. He has been shown 4-h and High School rodeo horse, gymkhana as well as endurance. He has been trained basic dressage and is registered with AQHA. Use him as a barrel horse, pole bender, roper, drill, rodeo queen, eventer, jumper, dressage horse or anything. Moves easily off leg. Ok in trail and is fine for both vet and farrier, has front shoes. He is all right with other horses. He trailers and bathes and doesn’t mind children. I will sell most of his tack with him. No time, too many animals, must sell!
I'm in Southern California and really need to sell him.

Hello :)

I'm in Australia so I don't know what your pricing is like over there, sorry. Just thought I'd say he is a beautifully boy! Good luck, it's so hard to see a friend move on, I'm sure you will find a nice new home for him

Have to check local classifieds, web / papers / saddleries.

Are you asking what you should ask for him? Or are you wanting people to make offers?

I ride hunter/jumpers so I have no idea what barrel horses are going for... but so much of determining a price is dependant on their show record, your location, the horse market where you are, etc. If you go on any of the horse classified websites (dreamhorse, equine, com, etc) you can type in your location, fill in the criteria that he fits into and see what horses like him are going for.
