Seriously need help selling this guy 15.3 jumper (socal)

He's a great little horse guys, but I really need to sell him ASAP. I'm moving in less than a month (it happened a whole hell of alot quicker than I thought. )

Even if you don't want him let me know if you know of any one that would want him.

He's a great jumper/ eq horse. He goes in a hackamore only!! HACKAMORE ONLY! He's a fantastic horse, until you put a bit on him. But in a hackamore, i've had children ride him.

He's a perfect horse for 3'6 to 3'9 jumpers. He has to try a little harder for higher courses, but he can do them no problem. He has a really nice stride, he has a big horse stride. Yet he turns and burns like a little man. He has a huge heart and will do anything you ask. Im sure he'd do cross country if you wanted him to. He's a fantastic little man. Please let me know if you know of any one looking to lease/buy. He needs to go, and that breaks my heart to say =[ if I lease him out, i'd simply be looking for a feed lease, I don't need a profit off of him, I just need all bills paid. If you want to buy him, im asking 4,000 for him which in all honesty is just pathetic since he's worth about 8. Oh well.

Call me, or text me if you're interested 626 392 9660

Serious inquiries only please. If you need more pictures, I can get some.

<-- old picture. (and he's standing like a ******. Hahaha ) let me know and i'll get new video and new pictures. =D

I will add tips later when I'm on my computer. The wording of the ad is likely putting people off. People usually want horses that can carry bits.

Well im not going to word it so it sounds like he can, he can't. And im not going to put my horse in a home where he'll flip with a bit and hurt himself, or the person. Thanks for the tip though =]. I'd just rather it take longer to sell him and him go to a home that knows he can't go in a bit, than sell him sooner to people that think he can go in a bit, when in all honesty, he cannot. Thanks again for the tip though.

People who will pay that kind of money want a horse they can show, and he can't be shown higher than local levels if he doesn't take a bit.

$4,000 is a very high price for a horse who will be relegated solely to fun days and trail rides, just because he can't be bitted. He may be worth $8,000 to you, but for a serious show rider he's not even close to being worth that much.

Unless he has a mouth injury or congenital defect that makes taking a bit painful, I don't see why a good professional couldn't get him going in a bit.

I do wish you luck in finding him a good home. I'm just concerned that you've severely limited his options by insisting he go to a home where he'll never be bitted.

I was not suggesting you sell him to a home without full disclosure of his bitting problem. It severely limits his market and marketability, though.
What routes have you tried to get him to wear a bit? Have you had his teeth done by an equine dentist (not a vet)? Full body exam? Chiropractic or massage work? Does he have a defect or deformation that makes it painful to wear a bit?
I would like to rewrite your whole ad. Ads should be professional, with photos to compliment the horse - the photo of him in the grooming stall is not flattering.

Actually, hackamores are allowed in jumpers. They aren't in hunters, im not so sure on eq. But having a hackamore doesnt impare him in showing what he's built for.

Yes I've had all that stuff done, thank you im not an idiot. =]

I believe this is looking for some one to lease or buy, not critique. Thank you all for your help , but I need help selling him not fixing the fact that he only goes in a hackamore cause I personally would much prefer a horse in a hackamore than a bit. It means he actually listens. That's just me personally. Thanks again guys. =]

I'm sorry but isn't the words "need help" in the name of the thread? With that rude attitude of yours your not going to get far in life.

I wouln't give you more than $1000 for that horse. Sorry. You still haven't said WHY he CAN'T take a bit other that you don't want him to. To me it sounds like your to lazy to teach him to take a bit.

Edit: sorry re read the post. Not totaly rude but still.

Ok, you want tips to get him sold faster and to a good home. Try this:

Cut out the head shots and the cross tie shot. Get a good, square conformational shot from both sides.

The jumping picture is nice and if he jumps nicely all the time, have someone make you a video. They cost nothing to post on youtube and you would be absolutely shocked at how fast a horse sells with a well put together sales video.

I could care less about the hackamore but it really will deter from his price. If you are saying he is downright dangerous in a bit but goes well in a hack, I would take that COMPLETELY out of the ad and replace it all with "Rides in a hack beautifully". If you hope to sell him quickly, you need to get butts in the seats. Get the people out there to look at him. If they like him and think he is talented, as long as you fully disclose that you have had problems with him in a bit...what they do with him once they get him home isn't your business or your problem.

And lastly, not to get too snippy myself but seriously, drop the attitude. No one is going to buy a horse from you if you are anything less than prince charming with them. Be nice, answer questions.

For all you know, someone on this board may have been interested in him and I doubt you will get any help with a snarky attitude.
