Waiting to see more recent photos. That photo is cute but very outdated.

Believe me - I KNOW this picture is outdated but until he gets rid of enough hair to look like a horse and not a yak, its honestly the best I can do ... Otherwise people would think he's best suited to carrying backpacks up the Himalyan mountains or something ...

He is shedding out a VERY different colour. The lighter buckskin hairs all seem to be coming out and what is remaining behind is a lot of brown and pewter so if I had to guess right now he is either going to be a smoky brown or a very sooty buckskin. VERY sooty!

If I didnt know his dam as well as I did (plain bay, coming from a line of plain bays) I'd swear she must have been grey and this youngster was going to grey out as well. He has that many grey / pewter coloured hairs in his coat

This weekend is supposed to be gorgeous here so I should hopefully get enough hair out of him and the footing will be good, to get some nicer updated pictures of him

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!

I continue to take bucketfulls of hair out of him each day and hopefully in the next few weeks, he will be slick and shiny with his brand new spring coat!

He he, you weren't kidding about the yak impersonation! Gotta say though, he has a kind eye and I bet he has a very sweet nature. Good luck selling him!

Wow he did do a 180! He's still cute though even with the yak look! I'm really curious what he sheds out like next year, he might revert lol. Good luck selling him =)

And a couple from this morning with more to come this afternoon when my daughter gets home from work and can help me stand him up for some (without hair!) proper conformation shots

He is as beautiful underneath that massive hair coat as I thought he would be ... just didnt want people to have to *squint* anymore trying to imagine what he *might* look like underneath it all ...

Okay - I am thrilled to bits with how these turned out. He is a VERY VERY nice youngster as these pictures show and bless his heart - I ran a long extension cord out to his paddock and draped the lead shank over the paddock board and got the rest of him clipped outside while he snoozed. Its SO nice to have them so accepting you don't need tranq or anything for them! Even around their heads!

Here you go ...

Thank goodness, for a moment I was sure you were mistaken and his mother had definitely been impregnated by a yak while you weren't watching...but I see now a beautiful youngster emerging before my very eyes!! I love the build of your guys...can't say I'd mind you keeping him so I could watch him grow in photos over the next year, I'm betting this summer brings greatness out in him.

Thanks cakemom ... yeah - if it wasnt *me* that collected GG myself and inseminated this mare, I'd agree with you - there must have been a yak in the equation there somewhere!!!

And one more from yesterday as well ...

As I cannot edit my initial post, his price has been increased to $7500.00. I agree again with what you said - I don't mind hanging onto this one, one single bit, until we start to do some basic groundwork with him in the fall, and put him through a jump chute as well.

Thanks for your nice comments!
