Stormy has just blossomed so much since I posted this here in April. He went through some growing pains and as come out as a new horse! Stormy has gotten very refined with a wonderful sport pony build. His gaits have gotten better, he's very fluid and soft, has natural lead changes and is extremely well balanced. Weve been practicing his jumping to prepare for the show season and he's gained a lot of confidence and really enjoys his job. He's jumping consistant courses of 2' to 2'6 but has schooled as high as 3' without phasing him! Weve taken Stormy to other farms to school in show jumping and cross country courses. Recently Stormy went to his very first schooling jumper show and as the day went he got better and better finishing up with a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place ribbons! He will continue to show in hunters/jumpers and possbily even try some horse trials later this summer if not bought beforehand!
I tried to keep things slow and bring Stormy back to a trot to help him prepare for the turns and keep his confidence up during the show for the first two classes. He was wanting to go to the fences but listened very well and by the third class I started to let him go and push him a little more and he did wonderfully!
