USA - would you like to rescue an old, worn out horse?

I recently got an email from a person I know who really needs to find a home for a horse. He is in his twenties, by her estimate. This is the email she sent me:

Being that you are around horses, I have a situation that I have run across and am asking all horsse folks that I have contact with. I went out and looked at a horse for sale by folks who have no working experience with horses and have realized that things aren't going well. They have the horse listed as a 16 yrold. They really are not being dishonest, just don't know enough to age a horse. This horse is probably mid 20s, is an old ranch horse (has brands) and has been run into the ground. Has serious arthritis in the knees, more than likely caused by an untreated bone chip, the kind of injury typically seen in these old roping horses. Is very well broke, backs, side passes, knows what a dally is all about, but because of age, arthritis and over all condition, should not be ridden in this manner, a light weight rider, on flat soft footing for very short rides only! Is a hard keeper (or appears to be. Maybe on a responsible feeding program, may not be so hard) This is the kind of horse I am looking for as I am smaller and can only ride lightly, but right now due to two dogs with serious health issues and huge vet bills, I can not financially commit responsibly. Anyway, do you know anyone who could take this horse? I would do the purchase price and get some supplements and pay for some feed, would also help with hauling costs. I did call a couple of rescue groups, one is full, the other has not gotten back to me. I am sincere about wanting to help this horse. Thanks for listening (or reading). If this is too off the wall you don't have to respond. Thanks!

So, if this sounds like something you could do, I would love to put you in contact with her. It would be in the Minnesota area, I think. Thank you for reading!

Thank you :) And I totally understand not having the funds - horses aren't exactly cheap.

Just for others who skim rather than reading - she said she would be willing to do the purchase price and get some supplements and pay for some feed, would also help with hauling costs.

I realize that those aren't the only costs... I just thought I would point it out to others reading, as that's pretty nice of her. So, if anybody could do it, or knows someone that could, it works out pretty nice.
