Wayne County, NY HELP (so sad)

It has been brought to our attention that there is a farm of 24 purebred Morgan horses in desperate need in Wayne County. Most urgent are 3-4 heavily pregnant mares that should not foal on the property and inevitably get bred again. Looking for foster or adoptive homes for them first. There are also 7 yearlings who have never been handled or cared for. Stallions, mares and offspring all running together, not enough to eat. All are thin and neglected. SPCA can't do anything. Owner will give them away. Begin Again Rescue is only passing along the info in the hopes some people can step up for these horses. We are not directly involved in their rescue.

OK, for everyone asking about contact information for the Morgans... Please email Tammy Lozipone at bossmare303@gmail.com or Pam Merrick at pmerrick@frontiernet.net. To be clear, these horses have no papers. They are not broke, some not even handled. There are 9 stallions, 8 mares probably pregnant and 7 yearlings, probably colts. Please do not take in horses if you are not experienced at handling and caring for horses like this!!!

Are they really available? The ones in Erie county-all 70 of them-are still tied up in court, and the SPCA in Erie county is caring for all of those, and has been for at least a couple of years.

So these are available through the owner? The pictures I have seen honestly do not look horrible.

Why does it seem this happens more frequently to Morgans and Arabs? Is that just because of what we have heard recently? Or is there another reason? I am honestly curious.

I really hope the person who is coordinating this knows what they are doing, because putting all these horses out there for "free" is doing no favors to them......I sure hope they avoid the feedlot. Very sad indeed. How about contacting Joanne at Lollipop? I know she already has her hands full, but I would rather these horses go through "quieter" channels than to be so publicly posted for free. How about Amy Hewson and her email network-which I think is almost everyone east of Syracuse...... I know many of the morgan folks in Buffalo and western NY are aware also.
