Weird Buyer

Ok here is the story. I took my stallion to the horse Expo and there was a woman who fell in love and wanted to buy him. She called me numerous times over the next couple of days. We decided to sell and she said she would send the deposit but still haven't received it. It has been over a week. I am wondering why someone would be so pushy about buying but then not answer their phone & not send the $$. Has anyone gone through this?

I would call her, and leave a message if you can and maybe ask if she was still interested, and if you don't hear something back in x amount of days, or you don't receive the check in x amount of days, he will no longer be for sale.

I've never been in that situation, so I don't know how good my advice is, I thought it might help

I agree with Appylover. Some people out there get excited about something even if they don't have the money to back it up. I'd give her a last chance to buy within a certain number of days, then forget about her.

I feel bad now... she called and told me her daughter and grand-daughter were killed in a car accident. I guess I shouldn't jump to conclusions. :(

Well I think because there are shady buyers out there, its ok to be concerned.

Sorry to be a bag, but people do lie (even something this bad) to get themselves out of tough situations... if it is real, then I feel bad for them... I sound like an awful person now.. but I've dealt with some pretty interesting characters.

That is awful, but I agree with JDI there are some real goofballs out there. Especially when selling horses and used cars

I AGREE WITH VIDALOCO There are people who will say anything to ease embarassment so be carefull and if they send a check make very sure it clears well before releaseing your horse. This is from experience I've had . Buyer check say goodbye to your horse check isnt anygood so say good bye to your money and hope you can find them to get your horse back in some kind of fair shape . Sorry to say I never found the horse or the people , so im out on both but if I ever do well look out cause all h888 is going to breack out

Some people assume they have the money to get an animal and get on the case. When they actually make it home and do the math and realise they don't have the money and are then to embarrassed to get in touch with you, will make excuses(some far fetched).

I don't know that I would believe a comment like that (tho you never know). Just shake your head and move on.

I had someone who lied..She was supposed to be getting the money, then her 'sister' e-mailed and said she was in a car wreck and could die..then next thing I know the person who was supposedly supposed to die e-mailed me in a response to another add I had
