My friend has a Appendix mare for sale and she asked me if I could find out how much shes worth. I personally wouldn't pay a dime for this horse, but that's not really the answer she is looking for.
The Mare is registered and 8 years old. She is chestnut and around 15.2 hh. She is broke to ride, western (some barrels) and mostly english (jumping, and dressage), but has a real mental issue. She is NOT for a beginner or intermediate rider. My friend can be very harsh with the horse due to the horses disposition at times so the horse can be quite fearful and anticipates punishment. The horse is ummmm.... kinda crazy. She can buck like theres no tomorrow, and sometimes rears and can be hard to stop. She HATES any type of contact on the reins. Her parents were kinda insane too. Though the inexperienced handler does not help the horse really isn't sane. On the plus side she is really really fast, she is beautiful, built like a barrel horse, not spooky, good with other horses, ponies well, not scared of quads and bikes, good with traffic, trailers well, is ok on the ground, and is sound (health wise!). You probably wouldn't want to breed her because of the disposition that passes through this horses lines.
Anyway... She wants to sell the horse for at least $1500.00 when she paid $900.00 for he in the beginning. Since then her training has dropped and she has learned more habits. She has however been to some shows and barrel competitions.
What would you pay for a big project horse like this??
