Can someone please tell me more about hunter?

I would like to learn more about the whole hunter world. It sounds interesting, and looks cool. Thanks!:)

Hello! I wish I had a horse of my own.... I am working hard to earn $1500 this year though! There just doesn't seem to be very many good horses on the market though......

The best thing you can do to learn and get a feel for hunters is to search Youtube for videos of top-notch hunter riders. I love this round as an example, but the standing martingale is way too tight:

In my opinion, hunters is taking a horse over a course of jumps while making it look as smooth, beautiful, and effortless as you can. Rythm, the right amount of strides between fences, speed control, the right lead changes (flying), and an extremely well behaved and athletic horse is what it's all about. Hunters is mostly about the horse, his way of going, and his manners, but in equitation it's all about the rider.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
