Equestrian Colleges

I have been looking at a lot of different options for equestrian colleges recently..and have found a couple that I like.

I have one question, are there any colleges that offer IHSA AND NCAA? I know this may be a stupid question but im not sure.

There are a handful that do, but I am pretty sure there are NCAA rules that don't allow you to do both IHSA and NCAA teams.

Here's a list of schools with NCAA programs:

There's not a ton, so it should be easy to search for the ones who have both. Off the top of my head, a few are College of Charleston, UGA and South Carolina.

Also, you may need to know that the NCAA programs are highly competitive, just like other collegiate athletics. You need a pretty heavy background in showing and winning. Here's Texas A&M's guidelines on what you can expect to submit and what you need to do regarding the NCAA team:

Conversely, IHSA is set up so riders of all abilities can compete and show. They have everything from walk-trot classes to open classes that jump up to 3'3". Some schools treat their programs like a club sport, while others treat it like a full athletic team.
