Grrr... lower legs swinging!

Okay so i'm leasing a NSH mare that is very, very, VERY slender, like wayy more slender than I am used too. When I ride her my lower leg swings at I just can't move with her at the canter. The other mare is way more normal sized and I ride her perfectly! But with Desi it's the opposite. I just can't get enough grip, can anyone help?

I'm not a trainer but I have the same problem. Try shortening your stirrups. Also, it may help to ride with your stirrups tied to the girth for a while, this can help you develop the muscles needed to keep your leg still on your own.
Hope this helps!

Rule #1 when riding: KEEP THE HORSE UNDER YOU AT ALL TIMES.

I'll try that!
My stirrups are already on the highest hole.

I actually posted a thread a while back with the same problem and almost the same title, heh.

I have an OTTB mare with a narrow barrel, and to be honest it's still a bit of an issue. I'll post the link to my thread, it has very helpful advice!

I rode her for about an hour today, I rode her w/ stirrups for about 10mins, and 50 mins. without stirrups. My legs didn't swing at all when I rode stirrupless.
